Reducing our carbon footprint
We are implementing concrete measures to reduce both our own emissions and those of the sector.
We are deploying our sustainability strategy through 2030, built around three priority commitments spanning the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions.
Our targets for 2030, 2037, and 2050 are structured around these three pillars.
Reducing our carbon footprint: We aim to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90% by 2037 across our entire platform, and to actively contribute to achieving a 90% reduction in GHG emissions by 2050 alongside the aviation industry.
Reducing our noise footprint: We aim to reduce the noise footprint of air traffic – measured as exposed surface area – by 20% by 2030.
Governance commitment: Achieve Gold level EcoVadis certification by 2030 and improve our ratings in non‑financial performance assessments.
We published a greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction strategy (french) in 2024, setting ambitious targets.
One of our key measures to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
We are implementing concrete measures to reduce both our own emissions and those of the sector.
We introduced a noise‑quota system on 1 January 2025 to encourage airlines to reduce late departures after 10 p.m. Once their quotas are exhausted, night‑time take‑offs are subject to a strongly dissuasive surcharge.
We introduced a building soundproofing programme in 2003 for properties located near the airport.
Since 2004, 4,483 homes (719 buildings) have been soundproofed, representing a total investment of 67.93 million Swiss francs.
